Welcome to My Personal Page
On December 7th I will be sleeping outside with only a tarp and a sleeping bag to advocate for the hundreds of youth who go to sleep without a home every night in Sonoma County.
Tonight, and every night, 515 youth age 12 to 24 will sleep outside in Sonoma County. Social Advocates for Youth (SAY) helps these youth by providing housing, counseling, and career services to help them build resiliency and self-sufficiency. Between now and December, I have committed to raising money for SAY so they can continue to offer these very critcal services.
Today I ask you to join me in supporting SAY. Please click the donate button on this page to help me reach my goal for this One Cold Night fundraiser. I sincerely thank you.

Believe me when I say: if you were to meet the staff at SAY, you’d instantly fall in love with them – just like I have. It is through SAY’s outreach that vulnerable youth are able to stabilize their lives and feel connected. SAY assists them in finding safe housing, exploring their educational goals, and providing job readiness courses so that they too, can develop the skills and confidence they need to become contributing community members.
Whether homelessness comes from the burdens of a lifetime of poverty, the challenges of mental illness, or the threats of recurring abuse, the single most common finding is that youth who are self-sufficient have at least ONE stable relationship with a supportive adult - and that is where the work of SAY begins.
As I write this, I think about all the wonderful people in my life who have been supportive of my ideas and aspirations, who have been there to pep-talk me after I fail, and who have encouraged me to push beyond my comfort zone (see some of them in the picture above). I think about these people and I know that I couldn’t lead this life without them.
We all deserve to feel connected, supported and loved – and that is why I will be spending One Cold Night.
