Welcome to My Personal Page
Just finished one cold, long, hard night of no sleep on the streets of Santa Rosa. Very emotional and saddening to know that 515 teens do this EVERY night in our county. We heard from the amazing dedicated staff at SAY, and one inspiring young man who described what it's like to be homeless during high school, and then finding out there were so many others in his school who were homeless as well.
I'm am convinced more than ever that SAY is doing amazing work. Over 200+ kiddos were sheltered off the street last year and moving forward to finish schooling. I see why it's called the SAY Dream Center: it truly is allowing these kids to fulfill their dreams in a safe place. How humbling to know that their first greatest wish (or dream) may simply be to have a warm bed, and someone to greet them and check on them.
I appreciate your support and prayers. Let's keep going and do what we can to help our youth. You can still give through the end of December.
One last quote from our experience that I want to share with you:
"Here is what we seek- a compassion that can stand in awe at what the youth have to carry rather than stand in judgment about how they carry it"
God bless you for your compassion and for sharing in this great work!!
